No, the monster has been happily slapped

Wooop my second podcast appearance of the year has just been published, and I marginally improved my performance on this one.

A huge thanks to Rob and Joe for having me on their show, ‘Caliber 9 from Outer Space’, which is a podcast I’ve followed for a while and covers a range of obscure and cult films. In our episode we discussed two 1970s Italian films that, in my opinion, do not get the recognition they deserve.

The first was Marco Bellocchio's 1972 effort 'Slap the monster on page one', and featuring a dominating performance by Gian Maria Volonté.

The second was Vittorio Salerno's 'No, the case is happily resolved', which is a wonderful cynical tale of cowardice, manipulation and the justice system.

I’ve briefly reviewed both films on here and my social accounts, and they have several similarities which is why I paired them together in a very cynical double bill.

Anyway, check out the films if you aren’t familiar and give the podcast a watch.

You can find the episode on all the usual podcast players.
